Moldovagaz says pays Gazprom for September, prepays for October

CHISINAU, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Moldovagaz has paid Russian gas giant Gazprom for the gas consumed in September and made an advanced payment for October, CEO Vadim Ceban said on his Telegram channel on Thursday.

"With support of the government of the Republic of Moldova, SC Moldovagaz has made a U.S. $53.5 million transaction to JSC Gazprom for the September supplies of natural gas,” Ceban said.

“The company also made an advanced payment of $27.4 million to the supplier as a 50% advance of the total payment for the October supplies.”

Gazprom said earlier that it reserved the rights of supplies discontinuation if Moldova breaks the Thursday deadline as well as because of an earlier violation of the deadline for signing of an agreement to settle historical debt.
